XIWEN MIAO 苗曦文
Xiwen Miao is an award-winning Chinese writer/director based in New York City. Her global upbringing and her unique understanding of the relationship between society and individuals are always at the center of her work. She explores social issues and people's true nature behind closed doors.
In the branded and commercial world, she has directed for Condé Nast, Vogue, Michael Kors, Moschino, Lanvin, etc. As a music video director, she collaborates with young, talented artists around the United States. She has directed for artists who total millions of streams on music streaming platforms. In 2022, she was selected as one of the semi-finalists for the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP). Her work is featured on FREE THE WORK in 2023.
Her latest short film, Cha, a piece focusing on the impact of anti-Asian hate, has reached distribution with the Oscar-winning company Prem1ere Film, and is currently in the festival circuit. She has received over 40 festival selections and numerous awards as a narrative filmmaker.
When she is not working, you can find her walking around the city, capturing stills of real life, or in the bleachers at a baseball game.
